The St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Pam McIntyre as president of the college’s Meramec campus at the Dec. 5 board meeting.

McIntrye has served as the interim campus president since April, and served more than five years as the first president of the Wildwood campus.

“Pam is one of our most experienced administrators, and she understands not only the needs of the campus, but also the diverse population the campus serves,” said Dennis Michaelis, Ph.D., STLCC’s interim chancellor. “Pam has been instrumental in literally building facilities from the ground up that have opened doors to educational opportunities for many.”

“I will continue to work closely with faculty and staff to address our curriculum, instructional strategies and measurements of student learning in order to ensure success for all our students,” McIntyre said. “I want to involve our students and local citizens to identify ways in which we can improve our programs and services. Meramec is a significant community asset, and we must continue to focus our mission and priorities on serving the most critical needs of our local community.”

McIntyre joined the STLCC staff in 1986 as the manager of the South County Education Center. She was then named dean of continuing education and special programs. Under her leadership, the South County Education and University Center and the Wildwood campus were opened.

McIntyre received her master’s degree in education from St. Mary’s College, and her bachelor’s degree from Mundelein College. She also attended the Institute for the Management of Lifelong Learning at Harvard University.
