Time magazine describes this play as a “travel guide to middle America conducted by aliens.”
The play follows the story of a woman named Cathy. After her husband impregnates one of his students, she moves back home to care for her father who is battling Alzheimer’s disease. Her rebellious son, overbearing mother, self-destructive best friend and nosey neighbor twist things even further as they observe Cathy’s family and document their activities as the model of human society. Through each character’s struggle to find peace in a world spinning out of their control, we experience the sense of loss they feel, be it spiritually, physically or emotionally
“Tales of the Lost Formicans” is directed by Keith Oliver and designed by Richard Willmore.
