Rucker Earns Bronze Medal at Culinary Event

At her first competitive student event, Wauneen L. Rucker of St. Louis won a bronze medal for a butterfly-decorated, three-tiered wedding cake at the St. Louis Chefs’ Fall Culinary Salon.

The contest was sponsored by the American Culinary Federation’s local chapter, Chefs de Cuisine of St. Louis, at the Culinary Institute of St. Louis at Hickey College Sept. 28-29.

Rucker currently is studying baking and pastry arts at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park, planning to graduate in May 2014. She also is president of the Forest Park Veterans Club.
