Meramec Theatre to Hold Auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace”

August 07, 2013

The St. Louis Community College-Meramec Theatre will hold auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Thursday, Aug. 22, theatre on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Scripts are on reserve in the STLCC-Meramec library. Performance dates are Oct. 2-5 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 2 p.m.

This American comedy classic, written more than eight decades ago, tells the tale of mild-mannered drama critic Mortimer Brewster, who discovers the shocking truth about his two elderly aunts: the seemingly harmless ladies poison their gentlemen callers and bury them in the basement.

“Arsenic and Old Lace” is directed by Keith Oliver with set designs by Darren Thompson.
