Workforce Solutions Group Presents 2013 State of St. Louis Workforce Report Aug. 7

St. Louis Community College’s Workforce Solutions Group will present the 2013 State of St. Louis Workforce Report at a special St. Louis Business Journal seminar Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd.

Regional thought leaders will discuss and respond to the latest workforce research and intelligence that examine issues such as:

  • Jobs in the region
  • Skills gap in St. Louis
  • Labor market value of degrees and certificates
  • Comparison of online versus traditional degrees

Employers’ preference between experienced workers and highly-skilled new graduates

Effect of the Affordable Care Act on employment levels

These topics and more will be discussed during the event, which begins at 7:30 a.m. with networking and a continental breakfast. The program begins at 8 a.m.

“We are pleased to be able to provide, for the fifth consecutive year, this unique workforce intelligence to the St. Louis region,” said Roderick Nunn, D.M., STLCC’s vice chancellor for economic development and workforce solutions. “I look forward to collaborating with business and community partners to use the research results to proactively advance our region.”
