The St. Louis Community College-Meramec Theatre department presents one of the all-time classic stage plays, “Macbeth,” by William Shakespeare, 7:30 p.m. April 17-20 and 2 p.m. April 21 in the theatre.

“Macbeth” charts the bloody rise to power and the tragic downfall of the Thane of Glamis. Returning from battle, Macbeth is told by prophecy that he will someday be king, though his heirs will not inherit the throne. Ambition and doubt settle in his heart as he allows himself to be persuaded and directed by his ambitious wife, who counsels her husband that the murder of King Duncan is the surest way to achieve his foretold destiny.

“Macbeth” is directed by Michelle Rebollo, with set design by Darren Thompson.

Admission to the play is free, and is open to the public. Seating is on a first-come basis.
