STLCC Students Attend MCCA Student Government Conference in Jefferson City

colleges around the state attended the MCCA
Student Government conference in Jefferson City.
 

STLCC students were among 40 representatives from student governments from around the state of Missouri who attended the MCCA Student Government conference in March, an annual event focused on community leadership and advocacy. The conference was co-sponsored by St. Louis Community College at Wildwood and Jefferson College and was held in Jefferson City.


Students visited the Capitol and participated in a mock legislation exercise in the House chambers. They also met with Representative Mike Thomson and Senator David Pearce and presented information about pressing issues facing higher education in Missouri.


During the conference, the Florissant Valley student government association was named Chapter of the Year and received the Scrapbook Award. The Forest Park campus student government association won the Make a Difference Award. The Florissant Valley and Meramec student government associations received honorable mentions for the Make a Difference Award.
