Patricia Ziegler, associate professor and coordinator of the Information Reporting Technology program at Meramec, has earned the Special Ambassador Award from Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD).

Ziegler serves on the South Technical High School Advisory Committee for broadcast captioning and court reporting, assisting college-bound SSD students. She was nominated by South Tech teacher Kate Saunders.

The award is the highest recognition given by SSD, and according to SSD, “presented to organizations and community members who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the district’s students and staff.”

“I was really honored and very humbled to be recognized by the Special School District,” Ziegler said. “Kate Saunders, our partner at South Tech High School, runs such a fine court reporting program for high school students. It's a pleasure to partner with her and the South Tech students."
