The Symphonic Band, conducted by Gary Gackstatter, performs with the legendary Soulard Blues Band at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, the choral music of women composers is celebrated by the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Voices of Magic, conducted by Jerry Myers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.
The performance will include works by Sarah Groves, Susan LaBarr, Giselle Wyers, Andrea Veneracion, Ruth Schram, Natasha Bedingfield, Gloria West and Alice Parker along with works by Barbara Higbie, who performed with the choirs and orchestra in 2012, and the premieres of two commissioned works by St. Louis composer Barbara Harbach and poet Sara Teasdale. The concert will also include a performance by the St. Louis Harmony Chorus, a Sweet Adelines ensemble that is ranked in the top 25 choruses in the world.
Both events are held in the theatre on the Meramec campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, and are free and open to the public. For more information, call 314-984-7639 or email email@example.com.
