STLCC Foundation Gala Fundraiser Attracts Largest Crowd

February 26, 2013

Culinary arts students
Culinary arts students and staff from St. Louis Community College assisted in meal preparation for the STLCC Foundation's Falling in Love...in Five Courses gala fundraiser at the Four Seasons Hotel in early February.

The St. Louis Community College Foundation’s fifth annual Falling in Love…in Five Courses event attracted its largest number of attendees ever to the Four Seasons Hotel earlier this month.

In guest Chef Michael Mina’s first visit to St. Louis, 325 guests dined on his New American dishes. Mina, the James Beard Award winner, was joined by Fabrizio Schenardi, executive chef at the Four Seasons St. Louis; St. Louis Community College’s Casey Shiller, coordinator of the baking and pastry program and the 2012 Chef Educator of the Year; and several STLCC culinary arts students.

The foundation’s gala raised more than $230,000 to support programs and students at STLCC.

The event chair was Mark Birk, senior vice president of corporate planning at Ameren Services who is a graduate of STLCC. Birk serves as the vice president of the STLCC Foundation.

Event sponsors were Ameren (Lead Sponsor), Edward Jones (Cocktail Sponsor), Scottrade (Wine Sponsor), Delta Dental and Express Scripts (Course Sponsors), AT&T and Delmar Gardens (Premier Sponsors), as well as the Four Seasons St. Louis and Buck Consultants.

The 2014 gala dinner is slated for Feb. 8 at the Four Seasons St. Louis.
