Once again, the St. Louis Community College women’s basketball team will play for a cure, in the team’s second annual Cancer Awareness Game on Saturday, Feb. 16.

As the Archers take on North Central College at 1 p.m., they also will raise money to aid the fight against cancer. This year’s proceeds will benefit Kane Weinberg, a young man who is currently battling this disease.

The Archers will be selling T-shirts and holding  raffles, drawings and other giveaways throughout the game. The team hopes to surpass last year’s total collection of $2,500.

The Cancer Awareness event is played in memory of Mike Ethridge, father of Archers head coach Shelly Ethridge. T-shirts for the event can be purchased with a $15 donation. For all gifts and contributions toward the cause, checks may be made payable to Michelle Ethridge, memo:  Cancer Awareness.
