Meramec Hosts Career and Employment Services Week Sept. 10-14

St. Louis Community College – Meramec hosts Career and Employment Services Week, Sept. 10-14, 2012.
Career and Employment Services Week consists of a series of events designed to help you in your search for employment.
“Attendees will take part in free events that will provide important occupation and job search information, as well as build relationships with CES staff,” said Jacqueline Meaders-Booth, Manager of Career and Employment Services at Meramec.
The list of scheduled Career and Employment Services Week events are as follows:
- Monday, Sept 10: Resume Doctor; 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Student Center Lobby.
When looking for a job, a great resume is a “must have” item. Bring your resume to one of the Resume Doctors and let them provide a remedy for your resume ailments.
- Tuesday, Sept 11: Social Media & Online Applications; 11 a.m.-noon, SC 125
Conducting a successful job search may require you to use social media as an opportunity to introduce yourself to potential employers and increase your chances at landing a job. Gain information on ways to increase your visibility to employers using social media.
- Wednesday, Sept 12; CES Open House: 9-11 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.; Clark Hall, AD 249
Come by and gain information about available resources and say hello to the staff members at Career and Employment Services (CES). Each campus provides services and resources to assist students and alumni in finding full-time or part-time, on-campus or off-campus, internship or co-op, permanent, seasonal or temporary employment.
- Friday, Sept 14; Interviewing and Job Preparedness Workshop 11 a.m.-noon, SC 125
Learn ways to improve interview skills and essentials like selecting the proper attire, questions to be asked, and knowing how to document the connections you are making.
