Trustee Honored by St. Louis City NAACP Chapter

Hattie R. Jackson, the Subdistrict 2 representative on the STLCC Board of Trustees, received the Frankie Freeman/Norman R. Seay Commitment to St. Louis Award from the St. Louis City NAACP at its annual Freedom Fund Dinner June 15.

The award recognizes individuals for exemplary service, distinguished leadership and commitment to improve the cultural, social and economic growth and development of the St. Louis community.

Arnold Donald, president of the Executive Leadership Council, and Mark Wrighton, Washington University chancellor, also received Commitment to St. Louis Awards.

The organization presented a number of awards at the annual dinner, including the Margaret Bush Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award to Bob Love, Chicago Bulls director of community development, and the NAACP Special Chair Elaine Harris Spearman Recognition Award to George Muhammad Mitchell, supervisor at the VA Medical Center.
