STLCC Bookstore Puts Cashless Buyback to Work

April 06, 2012

Buyback used to require that hundreds of thousands of dollars be on hand in the St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley Bookstore. That made Auxiliary Services Manager Laura Stevens understandably nervous.

After a security breach and a robbery/shooting near campus, Stevens found a better way to alleviate the stress of having large sums of money in the bookstore through a cashless buyback program that uses a debit card to pay students.

Stevens discussed the program with a reporter from Campus Marketplace, the official newsletter of the National Association of College Stores. The complete story is available by clicking here.
