STLCC Hoops History Celebrated during Navy and Silver Spirit Games

|College officials recognized the contributions of former players, coaches and staff to the success of basketball over the years at St. Louis Community College during a special ceremony between games of the STLCC-Lewis and Clark Community College doubleheader Feb. 20.|
As part of St. Louis Community College’s 50th anniversary celebration, college officials recognized the role that the athletics program has played in STLCC’s history. Between games of Navy and Silver Spirit doubleheader against Lewis & Clark Community College Feb. 20, former and current coaches, players and staff who have contributed to the success of the basketball teams over the years were recognized.
The sophomores on the current teams – Shonnisha Davis and Markita Mosley from the women’s team, and Toraino Hellems, Jordan Jones, Darryn Anderson, Harvey Mills, Kyle Rice, Ryun Davis and Clyde Jeffers of the men’s team – also were recognized prior to the start of their games.
The distinguished list of anniversary honorees included Academic All-Americans, All-Americans and Hall of Famers, as well as coaches, administrators and other personnel.
The Archers swept the doubleheader. The women overcame a second-half deficit to score a dramatic 65-59 victory while the men earned their 12th straight win by defeating the Trailblazers 62-47.
