Dongfeng Li art exhibit at Forest Park

Watercolors of blue-collar workers in China and the United States are the subjects of the art exhibit “Cat’s Cradle, Reading the People” by Dongfeng Li.

The exhibit runs now through Dec. 16 at the Gallery of Contemporary Art at St. Louis Community College – Forest Park, 5600 Oakland Ave. The gallery is located in the library building.

A reception will be held in his honor on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery.

A nationally acclaimed artist in Oriental brush, watercolors, pastel portraits and figure painting, Li is currently is an assistant professor at Morehead State University in Ky. He began his art career in China, then earned a Master’s of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He previously taught at Webster University in St. Louis.
