Meramec Offers Adobe Certified Associate Testing For Fall 2011

August 04, 2011

The Digital Arts and Technology Alliance (DATA) at St. Louis Community College, Meramec will soon be offering the St. Louis public a new way to “power up” their resumes.

In partnership with Certiport certification solutions, STLCC Meramec will become the only Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) testing facility in the area at the start of the fall semester 2011. Through this prestigious certification program, students, working professionals and job seekers will earn the credentials necessary to propel their digital media careers to the next level.

As Adobe Creative Suite (CS) continues to dominate the industry in digital communication, hiring managers are searching for candidates with proven technical and innovative skills in a variety of CS applications. The ACA exam offers four areas of certification to showcase those skills, including:

  • Web Communication with Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Rich Media Communication with Adobe Flash
  • Visual Communication with Adobe Photoshop
  • Video Communication with Adobe Premiere Pro

All of these exams will be available on the Meramec campus for a small fee, which includes practice tests for each certification specialty. These practice tests provide users with an opportunity to evaluate their skills prior to sitting for the exam.

This appointment as an ACA testing facility by Adobe comes as a significant milestone in DATA’s mission to support the digital media community with cutting-edge courses and workshops.

“This program is designed to strengthen the resumes’ of students and professionals in order to help set them apart for jobs or admission into four-year institutions,” said Michael Burks, Ph.D., DATA manager. “The quality of our facilities, hardware and software made this an easy and obvious extension of our services.
