As St. Louis Community College embarks on a new era in intercollegiate athletics, the college has unveiled the Archers official logo.

“The Archers represent a gateway to a new beginning for St. Louis Community College athletics,” said Sharon Marquardt, districtwide manager of athletics. “As we travel throughout the country, the Archer logo will be a symbol that links our college to the city of St. Louis.”

STLCC consolidated intercollegiate athletics into a districtwide program effective July 1, 2011. District teams will compete in men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball. The Archers will continue to compete as members of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference.

The STLCC Athletics office now is located in the Highland Park Annex adjacent to the Forest Park campus on Highlander Drive.

The Athletics department offers scholarship opportunities for men and women to participate in several intercollegiate sports. Students are encouraged to contact Marquardt (314-644-9781) or Johnna Kinney (314-644-9782), who also serves as a districtwide manager of athletics, regarding eligibility requirements or other information. General information about intercollegiate athletics is available by visiting www.stlcc.edu/Athletics.
