New Forest Park Student Success Workshops: Issues of Anger and Attitude Counts

April 14, 2011

“Issues of Anger and Attitude Counts” will be topics addressed in four upcoming Student Success Workshops on April 18, 20 and 28 at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park..

A collaboration between the Student Success Center and Counseling, the program will address physical and verbal violence. Unfortunately, verbal and physical fighting appears to be an inevitable part of social and interpersonal behavior.

People can learn to manage conflict in a productive, positive manner, and that the more destructive and negative forms of conflict can be prevented or redirected.

This program will introduce participants to a problem-solving model for conflict management/anger control by using a 7-step approach, which explores violence inside out.

The first session is 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, in Room L-007 (near the Center for Teaching and Learning), on the lower level.

Two sessions are set for Wednesday, April 20, noon-1:30 p.m., and 2-3:30 p.m. in Room L-007 (near CTL), on the lower level.

The final session will be noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Room L-007 (on the lower level).
