Forest Park Student Newspaper Wins 19 Awards

The Scene, Forest Park's student newspaper, received 19 awards at the recent Missouri College Media Advisers (MCMA) awards banquet. Forest Park competes in Division 4 with other community colleges throughout the state.

The staff placed second for best overall newspaper.

First-place awards were given to Jennifer Kulka, sports photography; Carleen Shelton, photo page design; Lauren Clay, sports writing; and Chris Holder, advertising.

Second-place honors were awarded to Caleb Summers, feature writing; Carleen Shelton, Page 1 design; Chris Holder, feature page design; and Nathan Rothwell, regular column.

Third-place recognition was earned by James Bruenger, information graphic; Chris BoVance, feature photography; Jacob Lucas, investigative reporting; and Lauren Clay, Jennifer Kulka and James Bruenger, sports package.

Honorable mentions went to Tony White, feature writing; Stacia Doss, feature writing; Jacob Lucas, news photography; Jonathan Kee, news writing; Charon White, sports writing; and Carleen Shelton, Page 1 design.
