Andrea Lewis Miller has served as chancellor of Sowela Technical Community College for four years. 

During her tenure at Sowela, she restructured the organizational design of the entire college to transform it from a technical college to a comprehensive community college. In addition, she implemented a legislative advocacy campaign that resulted in 21 system-wide pieces of legislation supporting the growth, development and transformation of the college.

Miller previously served as provost, executive vice president of Southwest Tennessee Community College for seven years. In addition, she has six years of teaching experience in biology. 

Miller’s doctorate and master’s degrees are in cell and developmental biology from Atlanta University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Lemoyne-Owen College.
