STLCC-Meramec Presidential Finalists Named

The St. Louis Community College-Meramec Presidential Search Committee has named four finalists for the campus presidency.

The four candidates will visit the Meramec campus March 1-3. Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to attend a series of four public forums where candidates will answer questions about their backgrounds, experiences and other issues.

The four candidates are Anita Kaplan, Ed.D., former president of the Medical Center Campus of Miami Dade College; Andrea Lewis Miller, Ph.D., chancellor of Sowela Technical Community College; George Wasson, vice president for academic affairs at St. Louis Community College-Meramec; and Thomas Baynum, Ed.D., president of Coastal Bend College.

The public forums will take place in SC-200 in the Student Center on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, and are scheduled as follows: Thomas Baynum, 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 1; Andrea Lewis Miller, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1; George Wasson, 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 2; and Anita Kaplan, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.

The appointment of the new Meramec president will conclude Zerrie Campbell’s term as interim president. She has served in that capacity since July 2010.
