STLCC Board Chair Elected to ACCT Executive Committee

Denise R. Chachere, chair of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Board of Directors Executive Committee.

The ACCT Board of Directors establishes policies that supervise, control and direct the association’s affairs. Chachere is currently serving a three-year term on the board, which ends in October 2011.

Chachere is the human resources/organizational development director at Jost Chemical Co.  She is an adjunct professor at both Saint Louis University and Washington University, and also a self-employed consultant in human resource management and dispute resolution. Chachere was elected to the board in April 2005. She was elected board chair in June and previously has served two terms as vice chair.

The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) is a non-profit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern 1,200-plus community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States.
