The Meramec Contemporary Art Gallery presents "Atmospheric Weight: David Hanlon and Ken Wood." There will be an opening reception Friday, Oct. 15 from 5:30-8 p.m. Admission to the opening is free. The exhibit runs through Nov. 5, 2010.

“Atmospheric Weight” seeks to explore the monumental and burdensome aspects of the places we occupy. David Hanlon’s architectural photographs focus on spaces that have been designed to overwhelm their occupants and lead them to a sublime, immeasurable experience. Ken Wood’s paintings and works on paper explore the struggle for order in a messy, claustrophobic landscape.

David Hanlon coordinates the Meramec photography program. Ken Wood is a new full-time faculty member in Foundations.
