Meramec instructor Gary Gackstatter will showcase his music and artwork at the St Louis Art Fair Sept. 10-12 in Clayton.

The Art Fair is ranked second in the nation and will feature more than 150 nationally and internationally recognized artists selected from a jury process. This year marks the second year Gackstatter's pen and ink artwork will be displayed at the Art Fair.

Gackstatter also has performed and recorded with 5 Man Trio, an eclectic virtuoso trio of college professors who perform on acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, trumpet, trombone, harmonica and a plethora of percussion. 5 Man Trio will perform at noon Saturday, Sept. 11.

In addition to his art and music, Gackstatter's son Evan also will perform with his band, Gackstatter, at 5 p.m. Sept. 10. Evan is the lead guitarist/vocalist for this Seattle-based power trio, who just released a new CD titled "One Wing Rocket." Their original music is heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa.
