Bob Bottger, manager of athletics at Meramec, was named Central District Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The award was presented June 24, 2010   at the NACDA conference in Anaheim, CA.

The 2010 award marks the third time the NACDA has recognized Bottger; he also won in 2005 and 1999.

“This award is basically a reflection of the good work that the personnel in our department do on a daily basis,” said Bottger. “The fact that Meramec is being recognized for the third time is   a precedent for this award. We have worked through some very difficult issues this past year, so this is a nice recognition to receive.”

Bottger has served as athletics director on the Meramec campus for 21 years.  He is a member of the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Hall Of Fame and serves as its Region XVI Director for Men. He is also a member of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators Executive Committee, and serves the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference as conference secretary.
