Meramec Honors Kathy Yanko with Outstanding Professional Staff Award and Jessica Bacon with Extra-Mile Award

Kathy Yanko, academic advisor at the South County Education and University Center was this year’s winner of the Meramec Outstanding Professional Staff Member Award. Kathy was honored along with five other nominees at a ceremony held Thursday, April 1, 2010.

The Outstanding professional Staff Award was established in the spring of 2005 by the Meramec Administrative/Professional Staff Development Committee to recognize an exceptional staff member who regularly and consistently exceeds performance expectations.

Other 2010 Outstanding Professional Staff Award Nominees were Rhonda Adams, Dana Austin-Cooper, Darren Jones, Linda Kapahuke, Rita Reinhart, Paul Talaski, Sherri Timmerman, Michelle Savage and Michelle Schuler. 

The Meramec Extra Mile Award was presented  to Jessica Bacon, media associate for Media Circulation. The award is given annually to recognize a St. Louis Community College-Meramec full-time or continuing part-time classified or bargaining unit employee who demonstrates consistent, high-quality job commitment.

Nominees for this year’s award included Judy Ash, Beverly Bevineau, Sharon Bosslet, Marianne Gottlieb, Neil Hall, Metra Hobbs, Rick Kunkel, Nisey Love-Payne, Linda McGinnis and Debbie Watson.
