The Meramec campus will observe Hunger Awareness Month 2009 with Meramec Cares, Meramec Shares

The Meramec campus will observe Hunger Awareness Month 2009 with Meramec Cares, Meramec Shares: Hunger Never Takes A Holiday.

Beginning November 2, the campus will hold its annual food drive at both Meramec and the South County Education and University Center. Barrels will be set up at various locations. Non-perishable food and personal care items are welcome. Please do not include glass containers. The food drive will benefit Operation Food Search and Circle of Concern and will run until November 20. As in years past, the Meramec art students will turn your generous donations into a fantastic sculpture, on display November 17- 20 in LH Lobby.

On November 18, Operation Food Search volunteers will be on the Meramec campus to present Hunger 101, an interactive educational program for the campus community and the public. The program is free and will be presented at three times: 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in BA105. Faculty are asked to reserve space for whole class attendance.              Call 314 984-7893.

Also on November 18, the Empty Bowls Potluck Luncheon will be held from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in Student Center 200/201. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share and choose a bowl created by Ceramics students. Admission: $10, includes handmade ceramic bowl All proceeds benefit Operation Food Search. No reservations needed
