The Meramec Theatre Announces a Call for Auditions: The Boy Friend

The Meramec Theatre will present The Boy Friend, book/Lyrics and Music by Sandy Wilson.

Audition dates are Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m. Meramec Theatre, 11333 Big Bend Rd. in Kirkwood, MO.

Prepare one song (sheet music in proper key) & a one minute monologue.
Dress for dance auditions.

Scripts are on reserve in the STLCC-Meramec Library.

Directed by Keith Oliver, with set design by Richard Willmore and musical direction by Jerry Myers.

Performance dates are October 7 -10 at 7:30 p.m. and October 11 at 2 p.m.

Synopsis:
The Boy Friend is a musical comedy that takes us back to the Jazz Age  of the 1920's. Set in the French Riviera, we meet Polly, an English heiress attending Mme. Dubonnet's Finishing School. Polly falls in love with Tony,   a delivery boy. Recalling her father's warning to beware fortune seekers, she posses as a working girl, unaware Tony is in fact the missing son of the wealthy Lord Brockhurst. Things get complicated with the unexpected arrival of Polly's parents and Lord and Lady Brockhurst – but not to worry, a happy ending is in store for all.
