Meramec Campus Welcomes World-Famous Sculptor Yin xiao Feng

On Friday, April 24, the Meramec campus will welcome world-famous sculptor Yin xiao Feng for a presentation of his work and style. The event will begin at 1 p.m. in the Humanities East Building, Room 225.

At 2:30 p.m., the campus invites the audience to join Professor xiao Feng for an informal hors devours reception in the Confluence Room on the second floor of the Meramec Library. The event and reception are open to the public. Admission is free.

 

Professor Yin is the Dean of the College of Fine Art at Northeast Normal University. He is one of China’s most famous young Sculptors. His works have received numerous awards in the Chinese National Sculpture Exhibitions and have been placed in a permanent collection in the National Chinese Art Museum. Yin’s sculpture graces the front entrance lawn of the museum, as well. Yin was instrumental in the development of China’s largest city sculpture park - Changchun City Sculpture Park, which contains a collection of more than 200 pieces from Chinese artists and artists from 35 other countries.

While on the Meramec campus, Professor Yin will spend several hours interacting with students in various art classrooms, providing a unique experience for fledgling artists to learn in an intimate setting from one of the great modern masters of their time.
