Florissant Valley’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Wins Big at State Regional Convention

On Saturday, Feb. 28, representatives of Florissant Valley’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Pi Kappa, attended the Phi Theta Kappa Missouri Regional Convention in Springfield, Mo. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges.
The Florissant Valley chapter was awarded a five-star status, the highest level attainable. The chapter also won the Leadership Hallmark Award for outstanding leadership in the Missouri Region, and the Service Hallmark Award for outstanding service in the Missouri Region.
Larry Kimani Ndungu, Pi Kappa’s Vice President of Scholarship, was elected as the Regional Vice President for the Kappa district of the Missouri Region for 2009-2010.
Tom McGovern, chapter advisor, was presented with the Distinguished Advisor Award for being an outstanding advisor in the Missouri Region.
