STLCC-Florissant Valley to Host Technology Fun Fair

St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley will highlight its math, science, engineering and technology department at the Technology Fun Fair, Friday, April 3, 2009, on the Florissant Valley campus at 3400 Pershall Road.

The Technology Fun Fair will consist of two open houses with hands on activities, the first from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The second open house is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both will be in the math/science buildings and engineering building labs. Attendees will have the opportunity to help build circuits to test defibrillators which will be sent to developing countries. They can also attend an electronics lab to see and hear a capacitor explode and play a game with a robot. The biotech department will have hands on DNA activities.

From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Emerson Center Lobby, participants can attend a presentation on math and science transfer and career programs, financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
