The STLCC-Meramec Women's History Month Committee Presents a Lecture by Dr. Chyng Sun

February 19, 2009

The Meramec campus celebrates Women’s History Month March 2009 with its theme: Power and Relationships.

To kick off a month's worth of great lectures and discussions, the committee welcomes Dr. Chyng Sun, a filmmaker and clinical professor of Media Studies at New York University. Dr. Sun will present The Price of Pleasure: Pornography, Sexuality, and Relationships at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, in the Meramec Theatre. Dr. Sun will examine how pornography affects our sexuality and relationships as it has become more mainstream and ubiquitous, and as its content has also become more violent and degrading. Once relegated to the margins of society, pornography has become one of the most visible and profitable sectors of the cultural industries in the United States, with an estimated revenue of $13 billion.

Co-Sponsored with STLCC-Meramec Diversity Committee, Women's History Month is celebrated throughout March on the Meramec campus with a variety of lectures, panel discussions and related events. Admission is free and seating is open for all events.
