The Distinguished Business/Industry Award is presented to an individual from a business or industry in recognition for partnership with the community college to stimulate increased worker training and retraining activity.
Hollingsworth, the vice president for external affairs with AT&T-Missouri, has been instrumental in supporting community colleges and statewide workforce training initiatives.
Since 1991, AT&T has supported the Accelerated Technical Training program at STLCC. Nearly 830 employees have participated in the program, with 385 completing it and 65 receiving special certification. Hollingsworth chairs the Missouri Math, Engineering, Technology and Science (METS) Alliance, which implements strategic initiatives to improve preschool-to-graduate-level math and science education statewide that ultimately will enhance Missouri’s competitiveness and innovation.
