STLCC-Florissant Valley Theatre to Perform “The Laramie Project”

September 30, 2008

“The Laramie Project” by Moises Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project takes the stage at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley’s Terry M. Fischer Theatre at 8 p.m. on Oct. 3, 4, 10 and 11, and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 5. The campus is located at 3400 Pershall Road in Ferguson.

Directed by Dan Beltzer, this award-winning play is based on more than 400 interviews with about 100 Laramie residents, as well as journal entries from the members of Tectonic Theater Project and Kaufman, as they reflect on the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. Structured as a documentary, it attempts to reenact the events that occurred on that fateful night.

Tickets are free for all performances. No reservations are required. Special accommodations are available for persons with disabilities by calling 314-513-4477.
