STLCC-Florissant Valley’s North County CARES to Host Community Resource Forum

August 06, 2008

St. Louis Community College’s North County CARES will host a Community Resource Forum 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15, in the Student Center of STLCC-Florissant Valley’s campus, 3400 Pershall Road.

The purpose of the forum is to provide social service agencies and providers, who serve low to moderate income families, the opportunity to share information about their organizations with other community stakeholders. Both large and small profit and non-profit organizations are encouraged to attend.

"This is an excellent opportunity for community organizations to learn about each other," said Marsha Bonds, director of North County CARES. "Often, a client will contact an agency with several needs that one organization alone cannot address. This forum will allow for an informal referral network."

Agency representatives can distribute literature about their organizations, network with other community agency reps and participate in an open forum to highlight programs, goals and objectives specific to the population of individuals that they serve. They also will be listed in the annual Community Resource Guide which is distributed to more than 2,500 agencies in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Community agencies from in and around the St. Louis area will be present to provide information and answer questions regarding their services. There will be a variety of presentations throughout the day as well as door prizes and giveaways. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to representatives of participating agencies.

Space is limited to two representatives per agency. For more information or to register your agency, contact Loretta Baskin at 314-513-4798 or Marsha Bonds at 314-513-4742.
