| Students and parents from area high schools receive information about programs offered at STLCC-Florissant Valley. |
More than 175 high school students and their families recently attended the annual A+ Open House at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley.
Students and parents met with representatives from advising; assessment; business and human development; counseling; financial aid; liberal arts; and math, science, engineering and technology. They were able to ask questions and receive information on important items like completing the FASFA form, procedures and deadlines for applying for aid and the many programs of study offered at STLCC. Florissant Valley student ambassadors then took attendees on a campus tour.
The A+ Schools program, initiated in 1993 by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, allows qualifying students who graduate from designated A+ high schools to receive free maintenance fees (tuition) at public two-year colleges, including St. Louis Community College.
