STLCC-Florissant Valley Celebrates "Insights into India"

St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, 3400 Pershall Road, will be celebrating "Insights into India," a global exchange, Monday, Feb. 25, through Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Terry M. Fischer Theatre on campus, 3400 Pershall Road.

The activities, which begin each day at noon, are as follows:

  • Monday, Feb. 25 -- "A History of India" discussion
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26 -- "Global Energy and Environmental Issues: Challenges for the Next Century" lecture by Prateem Biswas, Ph.D., Washington University
  • Wednesday, Feb. 27 -- "Globalization and IT in India" lecture
  • Thursday, Feb. 28 -- "Indian Music and Dance" performance by Chaya Gopalan Asha Prem 

All lectures and performances are open to the public. Audience members can enjoy authentic Indian food and drink each day. Temporary henna tattoos also will be available, and participants may have their picture taken in authentic Indian clothing each day. Indian books and crafts will be available for purchase noon-2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the theater lobby.
