Child Care Center

Opened in January 1994, The Child Care Center was established to serve a growing number of non-traditional college students with families. The center provides high quality care that is convenient, affordable and flexible to children of students at Meramec and the South County Education and University Center. It also serves parents who are employees of the college and members of the surrounding community.

Children ages 2-12 participate in the program. The center also provides practicum experiences to the students enrolled in the Early Care and Education program. A close relationship between the two programs exists both in philosophy and in cooperative efforts.

The center charges fees based on a full (10 hours) or a half (5 hours) day. STLCC-student rate is $4 per hour and non-student rate is $5 per hour. Reduced fees are charged for siblings. All fees are paid at the time the child is registered to reserve space. The center accepts fees paid by other sources such as TANF, provided parents can show proof of payment from that source before space is held. We do not provide refunds for absences.

General Registration Requirements

Parents will be asked to complete enrollment forms for each child prior to attending, including a current health report that has been completed and signed by a physician. Parents will also be asked to sign a financial agreement.

Additional Registration Requirement for STLCC Students
In addition to the requirements above, a parent or legal guardian must be enrolled as a student of St. Louis Community College and must provide a class schedule and Student ID number at the time they register their child in order to receive the discounted rate of $4 per hour.

The program is licensed by the Missouri Department of Health and accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
