Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to honor Meramec student-athletes, coaches and contributors who have had distinguished careers in intercollegiate athletics.

Karen Brandt – A thirty year employee of the intercollegiate department at Meramec, Karen was the consummate professional working behind the scenes. The institution recognized her talents by bestowing her with the first Extra Mile Award. Her efforts and expertise enriched the lives of thousands of students and hundreds of co-workers. Marvin Moorehead – At 5’9”, Marvin was the man on the basketball squad. He led his team to a regional championship, a second place finish at nationals and earned NJCAA All American honors as a sophomore. Bob Georger – Competing in the heavyweight division, Bob earned NJCAA All American honors as a freshman and as a sophomore. He continued his career setting records at Florida International University. He has served as the very successful wrestling coach at DeSoto High School for thirty years. |

Angie Scharnhorst was a two-time softball NJCAA All-American. After finishing her career at Meramec, she attended the University of Texas and played in the Women's College World Series. Mike Kelley was twice named an NJCAA All-American in soccer. He led the 1976 team to the NJCAA national championship. He went on to SIUE and then a professional soccer career. |

Linda Meng McQueen starred in field hockey, basketball and softball. She led her softball team to second place in the NJCAA national tournament and earned all-tournament honors. She starred at Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) and has coached her high school softball team to a state championship. Glennis Donnelly was a two-time NJCAA All-American in soccer and an All-American in softball. This gifted athlete went on to the University of Utah. She is now in law enforcement. T.J. Mathews starred for Meramec and UNLV. He was a short relief specialist for the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland A's and Houston Astros. |

Eric Lytle was an NJCAA All-American for the men's basketball squad. After he earned his bachelor's degree, he played professionally in Europe. Melanie Flowers-Ruiz twice earned NFCA All-American honors in softball. She added NJCAA Academic All- American honors her second year. She earned her degree from Bradley University. Nick Vogt finished as runner-up both years in the NJCAA wrestling tournament. The two-time NJCAA All-American earned his degree from McKendree University. |

Mike Barger set a school baseball single-season record with 40 steals. Known for his enthusiastic approach to the game, he earned NJCAA All-American honors. He then earned All-American honors at Saint Louis University. He was drafted and played in the Seattle organization. Kelli VanHoose-Black earned NSCAA All-American honors as the stopper for the women's soccer team both years. She attended William Woods, and now serves as director of athletics for a school in Illinois. John Reid earned All-District honors pitching for Meramec. He transferred to Stanford University and pitched in the College World Series. He was drafted and played in the Detroit Tigers organization. |

Brian Boehringer was converted to a pitcher at Meramec. He went on to pitch in the World Series for the New York Yankees and the San Diego Padres. Mike Branson was an NJCAA All-American in basketball, and also helped lead Southeast Missouri State University to an NCAA tournament appearance. After graduation he played professionally in Europe. Tim Keane earned NJCAA All-American honors in soccer in 1977. He helped lead Meramec to the national championship in 1976. Keane is a professor at Saint Louis University. |

Tom Redmond helped lead Meramec to its first national championship -- in soccer. A stopper, he earned NJCAA All-American honors. He also competed in the NCAA Final Four with Indiana University. Sarah Wood was the most decorated female athlete in Meramec's history. She earned NJCAA All-American and NJCAA Distinguished Academic All- American honors. She was awarded the Danforth Scholarship to Washington University. Randy Albrecht has posted more than 500 victories at Meramec. Known as a true scholar of the game, he has been elected into the NJCAA Men's Basketball Hall of Fame. |

Scott Stefl was a two-time All-American at Meramec and a two time All-American at Loras. He won national wrestling titles at both institutions. Paul Pilla earned earned NJCAA All-American honors and set a national record in the pole vault. He also set an NCAA record in the event. He is an engineer. Celeste Knierim retired having the most softball victories (1,041) of any coach in NJCAA history. She is a member of several halls of fame. |

Kevin Missey led Meramec to its first national championship in any sport and also earned NJCAA All-America honors. His coach described him as the most talented soccer player he ever had. Joe Meives was a stalwart for the Meramec basketball team under Coach Jack Mimlitz. The All- Region performer was a team leader as well as its leading scorer. Mimlitz considers him the best he ever coached at Meramec. Jeff Karl led Meramec to NJCAA soccer titles in 1991 and 1992. He has the most wins in women's soccer in NJCAA history. He earned NJCAA Coach of the Year honors on two occasions.

Vickie Schneider starred in basketball and softball. She went on to play professional softball. She owns and operates the St. Louis Batting Cage. Jack Writer led the men's soccer team to the school's first NJCAA championship in 1972. He went on to coach at Cornell University and then moved into athletics administration. Liz Cullen-Borbeck was the premiere sprinter in the NJCAA, winning the national championship in the 50 freestyle. She earned NJCAA Swimmer of the Year honors. |

Bill Shadburne coached both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams. He produced numerous NJCAA All-Americans, including the NJCAA Female Athlete of the Year. Maureen Fritz pitched with perfection. She led her Meramec squad to a second-place finish in NJCAA national tournament in 1978. She is a two-time NJCAA All-American. Bob Hausladen was the ultimate pitcher for Coach Ric Lessmann, and was a two-time NJCAA All- American. |

Ron Mirikitani has the most wins of any wrestling coach in NJCAA history. He is in numerous halls of fame, including the NJCAA Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. Jack Mimlitz served as Meramec's first men's basketball coach, setting the foundation for the program that has been one of the schools best from the beginning. David Mirikitani is a two-time NJCAA All-American wrestler. He concurrently was a full-time student at Meramec and Washington University. |

Bob Murrey served as the architect of the Meramec intercollegiate program. He served as the first director of athletics. Brooke Breer led Meramec to two NJCAA national soccer championships. She twice earned NJCAA All- American honors in soccer. She was Indiana University women's soccer Player of the Year. Ric Lessmann was the dean of community college baseball in Missouri. He led the squad to the 1974 NJCAA national championship. He is a member of the NJCAA Baseball Hall of Fame. He later coached at Washington University. |
