Brian Smugala has completed three years at the helm of the men's soccer program.

A St. Mary's graduate, Brian began his collegiate career at Forest Park playing for Jim Bokern. An All Region player, he helped his team finish second in the 1983 NJCAA Championship.

Brian then transferred to Avila University and started for two years. The 1985 squad was ranked second in the NAIA. He received his Bachelor's degree in communications.

For the past eight years Coach Smugala has worked with the Busch Soccer Club. Most recently he has named coaching director for the boys. He also assisted the Magic for two seasons.

The Magic have had two strong seasons under his leadership. They went undefeated to win the MCCAC Conference title in '06. The team posted a record of 10-0. Brain Smugala was voted Coach of the Year. The Magic look forward to a strong tradition of excellence under his passionate leadership. He has coached one NJCAA Academic All American, one Distinguished Academic All American and one NJCAA All American.
