Melanie Marcy enters her first year as assistant coach of Meramec Women's Basketball. Marcy is a native of Chicago and started her college basketball career at Illinois State University. Marcy transferred to the University of Missouri - St. Louis, where she played for Ethridge and was a career starter and team captain of the women's basketball team.

Marcy has coached girls' basketball at the college and high school level for the past ten years. She was an assistant coach at UMSL for five years, during which time she helped coach the team to the National Tournament. While at UMSL, Marcy served as recruiting coordinator, camp co-director, and was responsible for post player development. Marcy also coordinated team travel and helped with scouting, game preparation, fundraising and community outreach.

For the past five seasons, Marcy has coached at Whitfield School in St. Louis, Missouri. In the 2008-2009 season, Marcy spent her first year as head coach of the varsity girls' basketball team. The team went 18-9 and won the school's first ever District Championship.

Marcy received her bachelors degree in Mass Communications from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in January 2000.
