Steve Jarvis took over the reins of the women's basketball team in 2002/03. His squads are known for their hard play night after night. A new era in women's basketball is definitely here. The 2005/06 squad posted a record of 21-12. They won the school's first Region XVI Championship in twenty nine years. Heather McAllister became his first basketball All American.

Coach Jarvis brings a wealth of experience to the Magic, most recently as head men's basketball coach at Maryville University from 1991-1995, and for a year at Parks College. Coach Jarvis also has experience in collegiate sports having served as head coach of Maryville's softball, and men's and women's cross country teams.

The Magic skipper graduated from Maryville in 1988 with a B.S. in management. He is currently employed as a parks facilities supervisor for the city of Chesterfield.
