New Scholarship Honors Former Chancellor Henry D. Shannon
The Henry D. Shannon Endowed Scholarship Fund for Leadership and Community Service was established to encourage and inspire deserving students, regardless of race, creed, sex, or national origin, to obtain a degree at St. Louis Community College. Successful applicants must demonstrate potential for leadership and community service in St. Louis. The fund is established in honor of Henry Shannon, former STLCC chancellor, for his 24 years of leadership and community service.
Shannon served as STLCC chancellor from January 2000 to August 2007. He began his career with the college in 1983 as dean of student services at Forest Park and was named campus president in 1992.
