John K. Roedel Jr.

John Roedel is a partner in the St. Louis law firm of Senniger, Powers, Leavitt and Roedel. He engages in a wide ranging intellectual property practice, including litigation, chemical patent preparation and prosecution, and antitrust cases.

He began his career with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Notre Dame University in 1959. After working as a chemical engineer for Monsanto Co. for 10 years, he became interested in the practice of patent law. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1969 and joined the firm in which he later became a partner.

An active member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Roedel has served on and chaired various committees, including the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section. He is an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University, where he has taught patent law. He has been associated with St. Louis Community College since 1977. He served on the college's Board of Trustees from 1977 until 1983, holding the office of president in 1981-82. Since 1990 he has served on the STLCC Building Corp. Boardof Directors. He joined the foundation board in 1993.

Roedel and his wife, Peggy, live in St. Louis City's Central West End.
