Institutional Goals

St. Louis Community College is committed to fully developing the social and economic fabric of the community by increasing the number of residents who enroll in its programs and complete credentials. With Achieving the Dream, the college plans to build on its culture of inquiry and evidence-based decision making to support student success. It will

  • Improve the rates at which students earn a certificate or associate degree.
  • Increase persistence from one term to another.
  • Increase completion of courses taken with a grade of “C” or better.
  • Grow enrollment in and facilitate successful completion of initial college-level or gatekeeper courses such as English or Math.
  • Help students successfully complete remedial or developmental requirements and advance to credit bearing courses.

Key performance indicators already are in place for the college’s three strategic directions: growing enrollment, improving academic achievement and student learning, and improving responsiveness to the work force.
