Steve Johnson
Assistant Coach
Men's Baseball

Steve Johnson is in his 3rd year as assistant coach at Forest Park. He has served as the hitting instructor, strength and conditioning coach, recruiting coordinator and outfield coach. Under Coach Johnson's leadership in 2007, the Highlanders hit .344 and were ranked 15th in the nation in hitting. In 2008, the Highlanders hit .353 and were ranked 11th in the nation.

Coach Johnson has coached in the Metro Collegiate League in St. Louis and has also coached Legion ball. Prior to coaching, Johnson was a personal trainer for five  years, and owned a gym for two years. Johnson played his collegiate baseball at Southwestern Illinois College starting in centerfield where he lead the 1996-97 team to a 48-9 record. He then played centerfield for the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Coach Johnson earned his AD in Science from Southwestern Illinois, and his Bachelors in General Studies at The University of Missouri-St. Louis.
