Coach Mason Horne took over the helm of the Forest Park Men's Baseball team in 2007-2008 season. Horne is in his second tenure at Forest Park as he worked on the Highlander coaching staff from 2001-2006. In 2007, Horne worked as the hitting coach at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where he helped move the Cougars from next to last in the conference to best in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and a NCAA Regional Birth.

During his time at Forest Park Horne has helped move 30+ players to Division I programs. In 2006 as an Associate Head Coach, he led the team to a birth in the NJCAA World Series. Also five NJCAA All-Americans have been honored under Horne's tutelage. Since 2001, the team has never finished lower than 15th in the country in batting. Coach Horne has also had five All-Region performers, including Tim Rupp who led the NJCAA in hitting with a .526 average. Coach Horne was selected as the Region XVI Coach of Year for the 2009 season. He also helped to develop Tim Rupp, who as selected to the NJCAA All-American Team.

To go along with success on the field, Coach Horne is directing good results in the classroom as well. In 2008, Coach Horne help guide two NJCAA Academic All-Americans and continues to push high expectations in the classroom.
