Excellence in Mathematics Competition
This year's contest is set for Nov. 5, 2016
The Excellence in Math contest has been a tradition for over 40 years at STLCC - Forest Park. High school students from around the region gather for a day to see who can be the best at solving a series of math problems.
The Excellence in Mathematics Contest 2016 will consist of the same 20 multiple choice questions for each grade level. Copies of some of the previous years' exams are available online to aid students in preparing for this year's contest.
There will be two divisions for each grade level, freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior, based on the size of the high school. A maximum of ten students per grade level may participate from each high school. Individual and team awards will be given to the top students and teams in each division. A team will consist of four scorers from each category.
If you wish to participate, please use your school code and password from last year. If you do not have a code and password, please contact us at email@example.com. If you have this information, click on the word 'REGISTRATION' below.
The registration fee is $7 per contestant and payable online. No registrations and/or payments can be taken on the day of the contest. Payment is online only by credit card or electronic check (ACH). The deadline for online payments is 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2016.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 314-644-9663 or 314-644-9093 (TDD) if you have any questions.
Contestants must be present at the awards ceremony to claim any scholarships or awards. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the highest scoring seniors in each division. Two participant scholarships for a St. Louis Community College course will be awarded through a random drawing to one junior and one senior contestant.
You will need a School ID and password which are the same as last year's. For assistance contact contest organizers.
No registrations can be taken after that date.
