Hybrid Courses
Hybrid (HYB) courses are taught using two instructional formats: on campus and online, combining traditional face-to-face classroom instruction with computer-based distance education. Students meet on campus one day a week for the lecture portion of the class and then work independently to complete the online portion of the course.
Elluminate Live!
Selected hybrid courses may use Elluminate Live!, a real-time, synchronous, virtual classroom tool that is accessible through Blackboard, the college’s course management software. Elluminate Live! offers instructors and students the opportunity to use audio, video, chat, whiteboard and application sharing in an online course environment.
Students participating in these sections must have a headset with an attached microphone to participate in the audio feature. Headsets are available in the campus bookstores.
